Michael: Open communication and feedback. Feedback? Nope, I don't want to hear it. That stuff is always bad. It doesn't have to be. Believe it or not, the person giving the feedback usually doesn't have negative intentions. Seven ideas, one week, a better you.
So let's talk about permission: getting consent. When you're giving feedback, make sure you're actually saying, "Hey, do you mind if I give you some feedback?" Let the person accept it and receive it. It's going to go a long way.
The same goes for you. If someone's giving you feedback, especially if it's unsolicited, check your body. Check your feelings. Let them sit down. Listen to that feedback, because believe it or not, they're just trying to give you an idea. We instinctually don't want to feel it. We don't want to believe it. But it's for your own good. Try it out.
