Michael: Setting expectations. Seven ideas, one week and a better you.
So let's talk about what setting expectations looks like and how it works. I will tell you, setting expectations will actually remove the biggest hurdle in our lives, and that's disappointment from other people. If you're able to set that expectation with people about what you're doing, how long you're doing it for, and what it looks like when it's done, you're going to be in a lot better situation with almost everyone around you.
The most important thing is getting the buy-in from the other person as well. When you have a mutually agreed idea of what completed looks like, there are no questions about the expectation you've set, and people don't seem lost and confused. That's where we get in trouble: when people are confused and we don't communicate.
So set those expectations correctly, and you'll be a much happier person.
